Alan Aldridge is by far my most favourite illustrator. Well known for his hypnotic, colourful designs ranging from the celebrated book The Beatles Illustrated Lyrics and the film poster for
Warhol’s Chelsea Girls, as well as groundbreaking covers for Penguin books. Some rather delightful imaginings within illustrated children’s books such as the much loved The Butterfly Ball.
Lucky for us who love his work, last week saw the opening of an exhibition - the first complete UK retrospective of his work.
Alan Aldridge – The man with Kaleidoscope Eyes runs from 10 October to 25 January at the
Design Museum.
