I kind of want to live in this world! 'Pour' is a series of work by New York-based artist Holton Rower who creates these psychedelic 3D works of art by pouring many layers of different coloured paint over large rectangular cubes. I kinda want to do it! super cool.

On a recent trip to Amsterdam, I came across this super stripey wall in a restaurant. Strips of varying colours added some vibrancy to the interior of this huge open plan room. Love it!

...is happening tomorrow! Myself and a few other like-minded makers decided we needed an affordable place to sell our wares in London. Soon we realised it was limited and expensive so we formed a little collective and here we are on our second Art and Craft show! We Make is about smaller, independent makers being able to sell their stuff, how they want to and has the 'lets just do it ourselves!' ethos. I love Jim Lambie's ZOBOP! piece from the exhibition at the Moma. Color Chart celebrates the lush beauty that results when contemporary artists assign color decisions to chance or a readymade source. The exhibition features work by some forty artists ranging from Ellsworth Kelly and Gerhard Richter to Sherrie Levine and Damien Hirst.

Such a great little promo video from Manchester based creative company The Neighbourhood as they put it "...we combine imaging, animation, technology and sharply focused craftmanship to cultivate lucid dreams and luminous futures of course!... Stuff that jumps off the page or screen, sells ideas, realizes visions, and makes you smile." They certainly do that! Their website is really super dooper too so go check it out!

Alan Aldridge is by far my most favourite illustrator. Well known for his hypnotic, colourful designs ranging from the celebrated book The Beatles Illustrated Lyrics and the film poster for Warhol’s Chelsea Girls, as well as groundbreaking covers for Penguin books. Some rather delightful imaginings within illustrated children’s books such as the much loved The Butterfly Ball.
Lucky for us who love his work, last week saw the opening of an exhibition - the first complete UK retrospective of his work. Alan Aldridge – The man with Kaleidoscope Eyes runs from 10 October to 25 January at the Design Museum.

A friend of mine, Melina has just opened a cute little Gallery in east London and this friday we are holding a Photography Auction. It is a group show of diverse photography and will be auctioned off for one night only. I have submitted 4 prints (two pictured above as a little taster) as I am also a photographer in my spare time. Twinkle Twinkle

I love these illustrations on the covers of Twinkle comic from the 70s. Twinkle 'the picture paper especially for little girls' was a popular British comic, published from 27 January 1968 to 1999. It was aimed at young girls and came out weekly, supplemented each year with a Summer Special and a hardcover Annual. The comics were introduced by Twinkle herself and featured comic strips, dress-up dolls, a Twinkle Club letters page, and often puzzles. You can see more of these charming illustrations on flickr.

Those healthy folks at Dorset Cereals have come up with a really novel idea for their recently launched 'Breakfast Projects for kids'. As well as providing a delicious, natural start to the day, they provide hours of activity for kids with a series of projects to make- genius! No more wasting those well designed cereal boxes. They also have a really fun website where you can share what you've made and win a place in the Hall of Fame! Cool stuff. I love their packaging design, makes me want to buy all the colours to have the whole collection!

BEAUTIFUL LOSERS is a new art docu film that I really want to see. It's about a group of likeminded outsiders in the early 90's who found common ground at a little NYC storefront gallery. Using subcultures of skateboarding, surf, punk, hip hop & graffiti, they were inspired to make art that reflected the lifestyles they led. Developing their craft with almost no influence from the "establishment" art world, this group, and the subcultures they sprang from, have now become a movement that has been transforming pop culture. It stars a selection of artists and is showing at the ICA.

Tate and Tate

Today I decided to do some serious art consumption. I went to see the Francis Bacon exhibition at Tate Britain. Amazing collection of work, a retrospective of one of the world's greatest painters. Was really great to see how his work progressed through the years, a must see!

I then wandered down the southbank with my friend Lorna to go to the see the Mark Rothko exhibition at the Tate Modern. It was the first day of the show and was truly magnificent! Huge canvases were hung together in a dimly lit room. I am a massive fan of Rothko's paintings so was in my element walking through this exhibition.

I just couldn't resist telling you about this little gem I found. Remember Morph? The little plasticine dude who was Tony Hart's sidekick? Well I grew up watching Morph, and he is back! and yes you get to make him yourself! The kit comes with all you need and mini accessories for Morph to fool around with. ...I love retro wallpaper designs, and a while ago I found this website that sells loads of different patterns and styles. I have bought lots from them and recommend getting some samples as some are metallic and textured so look much better in the real than from a flat image. Baby Boogie Wonderland

Today ChickP had a stall at 'Baby Boogie Wonderland'. Yup a kids disco! It was held in a great location, The Opera House nightclub which has recently been restored. Children boogied on the dance floor to some funky toons amongst flashing disco lights. It was a great event! I had some new colouring-in stickers, which went down a treat! Lots of colouring was had by all who visiting the stall. I'll keep you posted when the next one is- or check the Opera House website.
